Why wild venison is a sustainable meat source.

There has been much talk about sustainable food production recently and we believe Wild Venison is one of the most ethical and sustainable meat sources available.
Some people say we should stop eating meat to tackle climate change. We agree that a lot of the meat production is not sustainable and certainly needs to change.

But not all meat is the same…. Just as a vegan diet can be very bad for the environment when we fly in ingredients from all over the world which are grown in a monoculture, damaging the soil.
We all need to educate ourselves and take responsibility. Local meat production as part of a regenerative farming system plays an important role in bio diversity and a healthy ecosystem.

It will be more expensive but then may be we should eat less.

We use sustainably sourced local wild venison from our surrounding area. Wild deer roam freely in the Scottish hills feeding on heather, wild plants and grass. This makes wild venison a delicious healthy and sustainable meat source. With no natural predators in Scotland, the wild deer population has to be managed by man to keep the numbers at a sustainable level. This is to protect the environment from overgrazing and starvation of the animals in a strong winter.

We believe eating wild venison is good for the planet and the most sustainable meat source available.
