East Neuk of Fife

We loved our visit to this coastal part of Fife when we went to the Bow house market in early July.

Although it was a work trip it felt like a mini holiday. We stayed in the beautiful coastal village of St Monans in a lovely Airbnb which looked out to the sea. A quick stroll down to the harbour took us to the East Pier Smokehouse ⚓️

They were fully booked for the night but managed to squeeze us in and we dined on their rooftop terrace which felt like we were on a boat with the waves below us 🌊

The food was so good, fresh seafood cooked so well is such a treat especially eaten so close to the sea🦞

I went for an early morning swim in the tidal pool before the market started. As it was high tide the waves were crashing over the pool wall but it was perfectly calm to swim in the pool💙

We had a table booked at the Kinneuchar Inn after a busy day at the market. They have just been awarded best Scottish restaurant by the Good Food Guide UK and it is no surprise why. The food cooked by James Ferguson - ex St Johns- is exceptional; seasonal, local, simple with so much flavour🍽️

We had some lovely walks on the beaches near Elie and stocked up on delicious goodies at Ardross Farm who incidentally have a huge range of our charcuterie too🦌

It was such a lovely weekend and we look forward to go back again and explore more places🥾
